Terms have context

Established, emerging, and contested are editorial assessments of terminology. “Contested” means boundaries or meanings differ; it does not mean the concept is useless.

Evidence strength is recorded separately from terminology status. Links identify the sources supporting a particular explanation. Examples are hypothetical unless otherwise stated.

Drafts need people

Development previews show draft entries so the learning experience can be tested. A published entry must have a source, an identified human reviewer, and an editorial review date. Automated validation cannot substitute for that review.

Dates mean different things

A publication date belongs to a source. “First observed” is the earliest observation in our monitored corpus, not the origin of a term. An unknown date stays unknown. “Last reviewed” records an editorial action.

Relationships explain a connection

“Uses”, “part of”, “is a”, and “enables” have a direction. Comparisons and common confusions are symmetric. The map and its text list use the same records. Learning prerequisites are recorded separately.

Privacy

This prototype has no accounts, analytics, model calls, or stored search history. Search and filter values appear in the current URL so the view can be shared. Source links open the original publisher’s site.
